Dr. Evan Matthews, associate professor for exercise science and physical education at the Montclair State University uses the CASE Stress Test System:

Which scientist does not want to have such a device at home? But wo spents $13`249 for a «home trainer»? The GE CASE system basically constists of a ECG device with 12 channels and a treadmill with speeds up to about 15 km/h.
- An ECG device with 12 channels can be built from OpenBCI or PyEEG for between about 600 USD to 2000 USD.
- And a Xiaomi treadmill with speeds up to 15 km/h which can be controlled and monitored in Home Assistant can be bought on Aliexpress for around 850 USD.
We only need a Dr. Ing. Rainer Blind who validates this treadmill scientifically for fun an in his spare time. Then we have a GE Case system for 1450 USD. without software. But we suppose the software for it can also be found somewhere in Python. And if not will not the next Dr. Ing. Rainer Blind code it sooner or later?
- This is without Blood Pressure Monitor, but such a monitor can be bought from pluxbiosignals for 120 USD:
- The GE Marquette CASE Stress Test Systems has a case which is very big. This is a hint that it has a big treadmill motor. Furthermore the tilt of the case treadmill can be contolled electronically. The Xiaomi treadmill does not have both of this features. Eventually we need another treamill to replace the Case system.
- It some research institutes around the world have the Case system it can be used to scientifically validate the system described here and write a paper about it.
- The case system can be bought refurbished for $3,695 which is still more than the system described here:
- Pi EEG 4 channel with be available in November 2023, Pi EGG 8 channel will be available in mid 2024. For 12 ECG channels based on Pi EEG the ECG channel need to be streamed together for instance in InfluxDB.
- We suggest to use the universal Raspberry Pi treadmill speed sensor for this system:
- It îs open source hardware and software and we suppose it is currently the treadmill sensor which allows to reach a very good accuracy at a reasonable effort.
