Why do we not have a contemporary open source sports sensor platform – is a fusion of Home Assistant & Golden Cheetah a solution?

Golden Chetah is open source and there are also scientists who used it. But if we look for instance on YouTube for Golden Chetah we see that many Golden Chetah contributions where done many years ago:

Golden Chetah is also for scientists:

Our journal is also for scientists:

But we miss a community of Dr. Ing Rainer Blinds, developer of a training tracker:

Who works on a contemporary open source sports sensor platform.

Can Golden Chetah be updated with modern components such as InfluxDB and Grafana? We have reviewed many components on our journal which are interesting for us personally. But since we are physiologists who usually don t code we eventually only will use the most basic ones of those. And eventually our colleagues and friends will update the other components and develop those further and integrate those in a modern and contemporary open source platform.

Several sports sensors have already Home Assistant Integrations. Home Assistant is a modern and contemporary software platform. Can we develop a fusion of Home Asisstant with Golden Chetah? Maybe scientists such as Dr. Ing Rainer Blind will find an answer to this question.
