Which physiologists want physiological data or office files which contain privacy data on Google drive? We are happy to communicate that we managed to build up a setup consisting of an Android phone with a usb-c to Ethernet adapter which is connected to a router and a Raspberry Pi with a Nextcloud server and a Laptop and all connected over ethernet cable to a router. No WIFI and no 3 G necessary, only wired ethernet cables.

The third party adapter we bought for the Pinephone which has a wired ethernet plug has also an usb-c plug for a power adapter and works to power the Android phone. This adapter can be bought on Aliexress for 13 USD. We can see the ip adress of the Android phone and the Pi running NextcloudPi and of the Windows PC in the user interface of our router. So everything is ready to start NextCloudPi.

There is an Android App for Nextcloud and a Windows and a Linux app as well. There are several instructions available how to install NextcloudPi on a Raspberry Pi. We where successful with this instruction:

It tooks us some time to get it running. But we are happy now that we can start it up, and it offers next to a usb drive as cloud storage also an instruction how to add a second drive to the Pi for automatic backups of the NextcloudPi cloud, which offers more security.
