Is a bad internet connection of the MRIS the explanation of the following installation failures described in our journal?

We had several times issues when we installed the following applications:

  • We where not able to download leepspvideo’s Linux setup part 4 64bit KDE plasma for Raspberry Pi 4 image to install it on our Pi in our facilities. We had to go to download it somewhere else to get the full file, since our download always failed.
  • We where not able to install Raspberry Pi OS on the Pi Pad 5. The scripts to prepair the CM4 did not work.
  • We where not able to install Pi apps on the Raspberry Pi zero w2. The execution of the script for it did not work.
  • We where not able to install Pi apps on the Raspberry Pi 4, the execution of the script for it did not work either.
  • We contacted the Pi app developer Botspot. He answered that something with our internet connection might be wrong.
  • We currently use a mobile internet connection in our institute. Today when we wanted to access www.google.ch, we received repeateatly the following error message:

«site was not found. The connection to the server www.google.ch failed. If you entered the correct address, you can do the following: Try again later. Check your network connection. Check if Firefox has permission to access the internet (you may be connected but behind a firewall).

  • a bit later, the internet worked again. Our mobile internet connection works, but seems no to be reliable for installing apps.

  • The internet connection of the facilities of the MRIS is even worse, these facilities will be demolished soon:
  • Altough we are very close to the WIFI router of the building the signal is so weak that we do not use it.
  • Furthermore a neigbour has sabotaged the WIFI router by removing the cable to the router.

These internet problems eventually caused the mentioned installation failures listed above.
