How to use an Android phone which is connected over usb as a Pi screen?

Tech Craft has shown how to use an iPad which is connected over usb-c to a Pi 4 as a Pi screen. He shows in the following video how to do this:

He uses the TERMUX app to sniff out the ip adress of the Pi 4.

We do not know if it works to sett a static ip adress to the Pi:

We do not know if it works just finding out what is your Pi’s IP Address:

  • TECHCRAFT is the expert in this field, and he did n t do this. Would he not have chosen this solution if it worked? But he did n t. He solved the problem by sniffing out the ip adress of our Pi 4 with the TERMUX app as described in the video mentioned above.
  • With an ordinary connection over an Ethernet cable and a router setting a static ip adress is not necessary, it works out of the box.
  • Finding the ip adress of the Pi is not necessary either to connect a Pi 4 to a PC and remotely to control the Pi 4 from the PC with VNC.
  • With a direct Ethernet connection over an Ethernet cable without a router it is possible to connect to a Pi to a PC via Putty and remotely control the Pi from the PC over this connection an Putty. There is a YouTube video instruction available for this, you an find the link to it in our journal.
  • But if we choose a connection over usb cable, we eventually have to choose the method described by TECHCRAFT with the TERMUX app, we fond not other solution which has been confirmed to work to this date for usb connections.
