OpenBCI Galea for 25`000 USD uses conductive polymer active electrodes

Here we can buy the OpenBCI Galea in the OpenBCI shop for 25`000 USD:

We can find it only by google, not in the www.OpenBCI.com shop:

  • There we can buy for instance the All-in-One Gelfree BCI Electrode Cap Kit for $ 2,799.99 USD
  • But also the Varjo Aero VR Headset which is between 2 000 USD and 10 000 USD. But we do not know anything about which electrodes are used in the Varjo.

The info about conductive polymer active electrodes of the Galea can be found here:

https://galea.co/#home

But until we got proof in a high quality scientific paper, that these electrodes are better than those of the Greentek Gelfree cap, where we only know that:

  • 2 electrodes work simulaneously for about 10 minutes (as shown by Krisztián Hofstädter in a YouTube demo, he seems to have problems with noise in the signal )
  • 24 electrodes work simultaneously for about two 2 seconds (as shown by mBraintrain in a Youtube demo)

we are not interested in those devices and electodes.
