What should we buy: old Raspberry Pi 3’s on Ricardo Switzerland, the Orange Pi 5 on Aliexpress, or the Banana Pi M2 Zero at Conrad Switzerland?

  • All of those have their pros and their cons.
  • We did not work them out nor test all of those.
  • YouTube video demo review makers welcome to compare these three devices, what features they have, where they can be bought for what price in your country.
  • Prizes for devices change quickly. The reviewer on the video compares the the Banana Pi M2 Zero to the Raspberry Pi zero and the Raspberry 3 A+.
  • The Raspberry 3 A+ is already out of competition in Switzerland due to his high prize.
  • But we think, the Banana Pi M2 Zero can be compared to the Rasperry Pi zero w2 which has become very expensive.
  • But if we run the light-weight Armbian on the Banana Pi M2 Zero, it becomes interesting to compare these devices, what specifiations they have, how do they perform, do they fit for our needs?
  • We have chosen also the Raspberry Pi 3 to include into our comparison, since it is the Raspberry Pi which can be bought second hand the easiest.
  • The powerful new Orange Pi 5 is the most expensive device in our list, and it is not yet included in our list. But we can compare it also. We do not have a warranty for this device if we buy it on Aliexpress, is it worth for our application, is it power hungry, which is the easiest device to choose, etc.
  • The Banana Pi M2 Zero is available at Conrad Switzerand with a warranty time of 24 month and a stock of 446 pieces. But we miss user reports who confirm what is shown in the demo video. It eventually could also be a promo video to make us buy a product which has not confirmed yet that the shown feature as LibreOffice and Chromion installation can be reproduced. It is eventually installed by a good coders who knows the device.
