Ed Humble: Having it all with Linux in the LattePanda

The video goes through a step by step install of Linux Ubuntu Unity with a 4.12 Patched Kernel on the LattePanda V1:

  • We first did not know if HDMI out works with this instruction and are now happy to know
  • We are also happy to know that an update to Ubuntu 21.04 is possible and would like to share this information here with other developers.

No known issues need to be addressed.

  • Ed Humble´s Ubuntu implementation on the LattePanda V1 is the only Linux inplementation from which we know that it had followers and users who used it and wrote issues about it as you can see from the issues which are written on Ed Humble GITHUB page:

  • Other Linux implementations of DFRobot seem to have no followers to this date, as for instance the Lubuntu installation instruction of DFRobot for LattePanda:

  • There is a straighforward instruction how to install Ubuntu on the LattePanda Delta:

  • but DF Robot refuses to deliver the LattePanda 3 Delta to Digitec Switzerland, one of the biggest sellers of electronics components in Switzerland
  • that is why we are asking the question if there is a future for the LattePanda 3 Delta by DFRobot or if this device will be given up by the company
