  • if we compare the Intel Atom Cherry Trail Z8350 processor of the LattePanda V1 ot the Intel Celeron 4100 processor of the LattePanda Delta:
  • faster but not much:

https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Celeron-N4100-vs-Intel-Atom-x5-Z8350/m407836vsm143924

  • we can see that the processor of the Delta faster but not much:
  • this is good for the power consumption, but not the active cooling it has

Conclusion of Explaining Computers

  • positive is Titan case
  • small computer which can run Windows and main stream Linux distributions
  • for robotics, mounting in a car, etc.
  • portable Windows or Linux machine
  • reviewed 3 years ago by this reviewers

Conclusion of the MRIS altough we did not test the device

  • It is hard to find well known SBC which are available in Switzerland
  • we reviewed the LattePanda V1 and found, it would be interesting with Linux, but we found also that it is difficult to install Linux on it
  • For Ubuntu, there is a GITHUB project available, for Lubuntu an instruction for programmers, but both options do not offer an OS image to download
  • the advantage of the LattePanda Delta is that it allows according to the reviewer and the box imprint installation of main stream Linux.
  • This does not work straightforward with the Lattepanda V1, as we previously discussed
  • If we are skilled with computers, we can eventually get a touch screen display to work, since it offers an extra connector for it
  • if this is straightforward, we could eventually get it to work as it was got to work with the official Raspberry Pi 4 touch screen for Fedora
  • if we are a skilled with computers, we eventually can also get touch screen to work over usb with this device
  • for our application, touch support is essential
  • we do not know how long battery life is with this device for instance with a 10 000 mAh power bank
  • we do not know how suitable the device is either for mobile battery powered applications
  • the need of an acitve fan raises questions about how much battey this draws, it eventually needs a big battery
  • but this device seems to be a quiet powerful computer, which for instance the Raspberry Pi zero w2 is not.
  • And the LattePanda Delta is available at Digitec Switzerland:

https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/lattepanda-delta-avec-os-windows-entwicklungsboard-kit-24227738

  • but the Raspberry Pi zero w2 is not.
  • The LattePanda Delta offer at Digitec says nothing about a Windows licence, we therefore suppose that it is not included.
  • But since it is labeled on the box as compatible with Linux, it is one of the rare single board computers which are available at Digitec Switzerland from which we know something about the device.
  • The main advantage of the LattePanda Delta is for us personally that it allows installation of mainstream Linux, which the LattePanda V1 does not.
