This video goes through a step by step install of Linux Ubuntu Unity with a 4.12 Patched Kernel
Everything the LattePanda has on board works, incl. wireless and Bluetooth
- the patched kernel is not the most updated kernel
- the instruction is only for th 64 mcc version with 4 GB Ram of the Lattepanda
- newer kernel 4 +12 kernel which are not be patched
- audio, video, wireless & Bluetooth will not work
- The Mainline Linux Kernel version 4.12.0-rc1 for LattePanda is 6 years old:

- But we do not know of any newer Linux installation instruction for the LattePanda
- Compared to other single board computers, this instruction is complete, everything seems to work
- The advantage of the LattePanda is that we can buy it in Switzerland from Swiss sellers with a warranty time of 24 month.
- Such detailed installation instructions are rare, and we are happy to have a Ubuntu installation demo for the Lattepanda.
The GITHUB project contains patches for:
- WiFi (rtl8723bs directory and in Tree)
- Bluetooth (rtl8723bs_bt directory)
- Audio (ucm directory)
- PWM (in Tree)
We are happy that someone developed these patches, which are very helpful
- VNC player to replay videos included.
- The LattePanda with Ubuntu offers a Linux alternative to the Raspberry Pi4, which is currently not available in Switzerland.
- The LattePanda V1 is available, and we are happy about this, and we are happy to have an instructional video how to install Ubuntu on the LattePanda V1
- We are also happy that someone created patches to update issues of the LattePanda V1 running Ubuntu to get features running which previously did not work.
- These kind of patches are rare and precious.
