  • Unfortunately, only one Swiss seller offers the Orange Pi5, which is a powerful SBC which runs armbian. This sellers orders abroad, is not very well known, and does not offer any warranty.
  • On the other hand Swiss sellers offer LattePanda and Radxa single board computers.
  • The advantage of buying SBC’s in Switzerland is to have a warranty time of 24 month on these devices.
  • LattePanda offers also an instruction how to install Ubuntu on this device:

  • This makes these devices interesting for buyers with low budget.
  • LattePanda also shows us how to install the Python Browser Program JupyterLab, a program which can allow you to seamlessly run python code and a variety of other coding languages right from your browser.
  • LattePanda shows us many other things how to install it on their devices.
  • LattePanda offers a forum where we can discuss about Ubuntu:

But still, it is highly desirable that Swiss SBC seller also offer the Orange Pi 5, since it is powerful and offers armbian support. The device has it’s community and is a good alternative to the Raspberry Pi4, which is currently not available.

  • But until the Orange Pi5 is available in Switzerland from a big seller, we can choose the LattePanda V1 running Linux as an alternative. The device is an interesting alternative to the Raspberry Pi4, which is currently not available in Switzerland.
  • On the next pages, we can see detailed instructions how to get Linux running on a LattePanda. These instructions include many details about how to get Bluetooth, WFI, Audio, Video and touch to work.
  • Instructions like this are rare, and can manly be found for for instance UBports phones.
  • But Linux phones offer only a short battery life, and we only can buy old devices to flash it on ebay.
