Does Fedora support the Radxa Zero – if not will this device ever run Fedora?

Last Updated on March 31, 2023 by pg@petergamma.org

  • No, but the Radxa Zero is an ARM Single Board Computer (SBC), and how Fedora can be installed on (SBC) is shown here:

https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fedora-server/installation/on-sbc/

  • There is a balenalib/radxa-zero-fedora:35-build built available:

https://hub.docker.com/layers/balenalib/radxa-zero-fedora/35-build/images/sha256-44cd3b3b3908effa2d206381d2fe674cf8df3ed3f7c65acd8d69523e17d7eb1d

  • which was build by balenaimages:

https://hub.docker.com/u/balenaimages

  • balenaimages does not have any public repositories yet.
  • The Fedora build for the Radxa Zero was pushed two 2 months ago by balenaimages.

Fedora 35 on the Radxa Zero, what to expect?

  • Can we expect according to our hypothesis following the arguments we have discussed previously something similar to the XeroLinux Official demo which shows what to expect with Fedora 37 on the Raspberry Pi4:
  • But the Radxa Zero is not overclocked as the Raspberry Pi4 in the example above, and the Raspberry Pi4 in the shown example runs Fedora 37 from an SSD.
  • We currently only have an SSD example for Debian boot of the Radxa Zero:

Developers welcome to make a demo about Fedora running on a Radxa Zero.
