to see Gamma wave oscillations in the brain during meditation practice?

In ordinary individuals, Richard Davidsons group had to work for many many days and had to do postprocessing of the signals to find Gamma wave oscillations in the brain, which lastest for around half a second.

In meditators who spent years with training their minds like Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, Gamma wave oscillations lasted for several minutes, or the whole meditation session, and had a high amplitude. These oscillation could be seen by eye, they did not need any postpressing, they are very fast frequency.

Can we measure Gamma waves with the Muse Headband and the Mind Monitor app?

when experienced meditators meditate those?

Which meditation practice to choose for meditation research?

Meditators who spents years with training their minds had to meditate on three meditation techniques in Richard Davidsons lab:

1. open presence

3. concentration

2. loving kindness and compassion

and scientists measured their brainwaves when they where meditating. They reached the highest Gamma wave values ever seen in humans.

4. reciting Shantidevas Dedication Prayer?

Shantideva is a 8th-century indian philosopher, and Buddhist monk, poet and scholar at the university at Nalanda.

The effect of this reciting this practice on the brain has not yet been investigated.

What happened in Sadhguru’s brain, when he meditated for 13 days on his farm?

In this video Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche reports in his own words what happened in Richard Davidsons lab:

(see second part of the Youtube video)

The high ability to experience of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche which becomes obvious in this video when he describes what he experienced in the lab seems to correlate with his high Gamma wave oscillation values measured in his brain. In the lab, they even thought that these high Gamma wave values could be an artefact.
