The $200 PinePhone can do anything. This message could be found on YouTube two years ago, and reached 1.7 million views to this date. Reviews like the mentioned review on YouTube attracted our attention. But have lost a lot of time with reviews and studying reviews about Linux phones. There where countless YouTube videos about all distros which run on Linux phones.
First Chris Titus Tech commented some years ago about the PinePhone basically “this is a real computer”, but only recently we found the information from Chris Titus Tech, that Linux phones are only for developers, but their development does hardly make progress, and there are still major issues with battery life which are not solved. For us personally, Linux phones are currently not suitable for our own specific applications and we think also not in near future. We are developers, we are skilled with handling with computers, but we usually don t code. But for Linux beginners like us, Linux phones are not helpful.
It took us a lot of time to find out about this. And we miss more critical reviews about Linux phones for instance on YouTube. We ask the question, are reviews on YouTube about Linux phones mainly produced by sellers who who want to sell us a Linux phones?
