What we expect from our friends and computer scientists around the world

It would be highly desirable, that the Neurokit2 developers attach all the physiological sensors presented in our journal to Neurokit3, Python InfluxDB, or a similar software and write a paper about it. We are physiologists, and not soft- and hardware developers.

The Meditation Research Institute Switzerland currently only uses the Garmin Fenix 6 attached to a Polar OH1 sensor for breath meditation with target breath rate 12 breath per minute, which is the lowest physiological value. Unfortunately, we can only use the Fenix 6 and watch the breath rate on the watch face until the target breath rate is reached. But we cannot use the device for data analysis, since it is inaccurate only at 12 breath per minute.

Is this all our friends and computer scientists at the Institute of Neuroinformatics in Zurich and similar institutions have to offer to us, other meditation researchers, meditators at the highest level and to other students around the world? For us, it is easy to write a journal as this one. And we are convinced, that is as easy for computer scientists to attach our sensors to modern open source soft- and hardware platforms, write student project and diploma thesis, medical doctoral thesis, PhD. thesis ( we won t write a PhD. thesis, we almost have written one here, you can offer us the Dr. h.c. for, it if you want), write papers. But if you want to make new demos and sell as new products, we let you know right away, we won t buy them. And we won t continue to write reviews in our journal until you attach the mentioned sensors to Neurokit3, Python and InfluxDB. From there it get s again interesting for researchers like us. And we won t continue to review in our journal until this is done.

It is highly desirable to have a community of open source soft- and hardware developers at the university level. This promotes university research. Countless demos, Android apps and new soft- and hardware products especially designed for us and targeted at us who only view buy since they are developed by short sighted money makes hinders university research.
