During the last view years, we where interested in sports sensor accuracy. We observed the introduction of new wrist based sports watches from which Rob ter Horst claims that they are highly accurate. But where is the scientific proof for this in a scientific paper? From the information we have, we can conlcude that the accuracy of sports sports watches has risen. But where is the scientific proof for this? There where some high quality scientific journals about sports sensor accuracy, for instance from Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. But is there a scientific community who tests the accuracy of sports watches? We don t know of a sustainable community who does those. Can sports watches also be used for clinical and research applications? We hardly know of scientists and medical doctors who do this. Why is there no increase in the quality of scientific papers about sports watches? Is this because accuracy studies about sports watches cannot be reproduced? Or is this because medical doctors and physiologists which where interested in this topic have given it up, and decided to use ECG devices for their application?
